Leadership course

The course covers topics around four key values which we believe are foundational to becoming and growing as a leader:

  1. Our lives have value

  2. We have good things to offer the world

  3. There is purpose for our lives

  4. There is hope for the future

The course is interactive – we use a combination of presentation, discussion, reflection and journaling in the course. It provides space to spend time to find out who you are: the good things you bring to the world, your uniqueness and the specific role there is for you to play.

What do we do on the course?

REUK runs a values-based course where we reflect on how the things that we believe about ourselves and the world impact the way we lead and influence those around us. We believe that everyone is a leader in some way, because we all affect the people around us. This course is aimed at helping you grow in confidence and awareness of who you are and the potential that lies within you.

Do you want to develop and use your leadership skills?

How long is the course?

Where is the course?

Who is the course for?

The leadership course is one evening a week for six weeks, with a celebration at the end. We run two to three courses each year.

We are currently running the course online because of COVID-19 restrictions, but hope to run it in person again soon.

The course is for anyone who is already part of one of our programmes at REUK, and who wants to explore leadership. You need to have a good level of English and be willing and able to attend all the sessions.

Unfortunately the leadership course is now closed until 2023. We will re-open the course as soon as we can.Contact Moses if you would like to learn more about other leadership opportunities – we'd love to hear from you!

"The Youth Leadership Programme made me realise that we must ask why we are here, what we are doing and where we are going. When we live in this way, we realise that life is not a game. It’s not just for spending time having fun. We’re here for a reason. We have to make a plan for our future, if we don’t have a plan, we can’t do anything, we don’t know what we’re going to study for or what job we’re going to do if we don’t have a plan."

A quote from P, aged 19, who recently completed the programme.
